Privacy Policy

Effective 6 October 2026

Star Trail is developed by Greyden Scott. This policy explains how information is handled in the Star Trail browser game, this website (startrail.greyden.games), and the Star Trail iOS and Android apps.

To ask for information to be removed, see Your choices and rights below.

The short version

The Star Trail game has no advertising, no accounts and no in-app purchases, and we do not sell personal information for money. Your game, from your saved journey to your settings, stays on your device. This website does use optional trackers: Google Analytics helps us understand how people find and play the game, and the Meta pixel helps us measure our Facebook and Instagram ads and show Star Trail ads to people who have visited this site. In the UK, EU and EEA both stay off until you accept them; elsewhere they load unless you opt out, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. You can change your choice at any time. The iOS and Android apps use no analytics, advertising or tracking at all.

Information we handle

Game data on your device

The game keeps your journey in progress, a short history of your recent runs (used so the next run feels different), your sound settings and your privacy choice in your browser's local storage, or in the app's storage on your phone. This information stays on your device. We do not receive it.

Website hosting

The website and browser game are hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request information, such as your IP address, browser type and the time of the request, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We also use the country Cloudflare detects from your connection to decide whether to ask before loading analytics; we do not store it. That lookup can be wrong if you use a VPN.

Optional website analytics

When you allow it, this website and the browser game use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find Star Trail and how they use it. Google may process information such as the pages you visit, your approximate location derived from your IP address, your device and browser type, and the site that referred you. Google Analytics is set up without Google Signals and without ad personalisation, so it is used to understand traffic and how the game is played, not to build advertising profiles. Google handles this information under the Google Privacy Policy.

Optional advertising and remarketing

This website may also load the Meta pixel, provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. We use it to measure whether our Facebook and Instagram ads bring people to Star Trail, and to build custom audiences for remarketing: people who have visited this site may later be shown Star Trail ads on Facebook, Instagram and other services in Meta's network. We may also ask Meta to build lookalike audiences of people with similar characteristics.

This is cross-site tracking. When the pixel is active, Meta receives your IP address, the pages you view on this site, and your browser and device type. Meta can link that activity to your Facebook or Instagram account if you have one, and uses it under its own terms. The pixel is set up to send only the events we choose (a page view), rather than automatically collecting the buttons and forms you interact with. We never send your email address or other contact details to Meta. Meta handles this information under the Meta Privacy Policy.

Your choice, by region

Google Analytics and the Meta pixel are accepted or rejected together. In the UK, EU and EEA neither is loaded, and neither sets cookies, until you choose Accept all. Elsewhere they load unless you choose Reject all, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, in which case they stay off and no banner is shown. You can change your choice at any time with , also in the site footer and in the game's credits.

The iOS and Android apps

The apps contain the same game, with no analytics, advertising or tracking. Apple and Google handle downloads and app store accounts under their own privacy policies.

Support messages

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.

How information is used

For visitors in the UK, EU and EEA, analytics and advertising rely on your consent. Hosting and security rely on our legitimate interest in running a safe, working website. Replying to your messages relies on our legitimate interest in helping you.

Sharing and third parties

We do not sell or rent personal information for money. Information is processed by service providers only where needed: Cloudflare to host the site, and Google for analytics when it is allowed. If advertising is allowed, browsing information is shared with Meta as described above. We may also disclose information if required by law, or where necessary to protect players and the service.

Under some United States state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act, using a pixel for cross-context behavioural advertising counts as "sharing" or a "sale" of personal information even though no money changes hands. Choosing Reject all, at the banner or later through Privacy choices, opts you out of that sharing. We also honour Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends it, analytics and advertising stay off without you having to do anything.

Your choices and rights

Analytics and advertising

Choose Accept all or Reject all at any time with . Rejecting stops further collection from this website and clears Google Analytics' and the Meta pixel's cookies on this site; it does not delete what Google or Meta already hold, which they keep under their own policies (for Google Analytics, the retention period set in our property). You can also manage how Meta uses your activity in your Meta ad preferences and Accounts Center, independently of your choice here.

Game data

To delete your saved journey and settings in the browser, clear this site's data in your browser settings. In the apps, deleting the app removes its data from your phone.

Information we hold

You can ask to access, correct or delete information we hold about you, such as support emails, or object to how it is used. Email support@greyden.games with the subject "Star Trail data request". We may need to verify the request, and we will explain anything we must keep for legal or security reasons. If you are in the UK, EU or EEA, you can also complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).

Children's privacy

Star Trail does not ask for personal information, and does not knowingly collect it from children. If you think a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes and contact

This policy may be updated as Star Trail changes; the effective date above will change when it does. Questions can be sent to support@greyden.games.
